What can I do to be able to make things seem to be in slow motion during combat or sparring. ?

I heard that there is something that martial artist do and they can fight and things seem to be in slow motion.What can I do to be able to make things seem to be in slow motion during combat or sparring. ?This is pretty much all in movies and myth.



There is no possible way for it to seem to go slow motion, however, practicing your reaction speed very often can half the time of your brains reaction speed.



The average reaction speed of a human being is a 15th of a second, using your reactions often can shorten it to a 30th of a second.



In your Dojo you could get a sparring partner to punch as fast as they possibly can, and you can intersect the punches, this over time (give it time) will help.



As for making everything slow motion just like that, it's impossible.What can I do to be able to make things seem to be in slow motion during combat or sparring. ?
The body picks up a stimulus and sends it to the thalamus for processing, then you either consciously/unconsciously send a signal back to react to that stimulus. This is all done in a few milliseconds. To perceive something in slow motion would require faster afferent action potentials (nerve impulses) via vision. As you might of guessed, that would be physically impossible to improve via training; however through training, you'd eventually be able to recognize cues and patterns more easily and react to them more appropriately.What can I do to be able to make things seem to be in slow motion during combat or sparring. ?well sometimes in a fight an attack may appear to be in slow motion... this is due to great preperation before a fight. The idea behind this is...if you know a kick is comming...you know what to do. if you seen many kicks in your day...to you a kick is just a kick. an unprepared fighter may say "OHHH what to do?" unthinking...unprepared. Prepared fighter says " kick, yup look at the way his pivot leg is twisting. Look at the way his body weight is shifting" LOL great fighters don't even think...they just react. Its a natural feat to be able to just anticipate movement. THIS comes with great training...long intense, awesome training.

telegraphing has to do with more of your attacker. "seeing it from a mile away" giving all of the notions ...exaggerated movements... which comes from a lack of training.



so its basically where do you stand ...most fighters exists within the middle and that leaves them mostly average... so train if you want to be great.
You can't, but if you train your reflexes and also train with people who are really fast and they go flat out, then you will get used to sparring at that speed. Then you will get faster yourself and when you start to fight somebody who is slower than you are used to, they will seem slower.

This is what the movies and myths about bullet time are based on.

Seriously, you can't, through training you get used to it, and recognize things that help you predict.What can I do to be able to make things seem to be in slow motion during combat or sparring. ?
They probably go slow, my coaches will go slow if they show us a wrestling move so they can show us what they do. And maybe the martial artists exaggerated their moves so that they put emphasis on how to preform it.
Video tape it at high speed and then play it back and it will appear in slow motion...LoLWhat can I do to be able to make things seem to be in slow motion during combat or sparring. ?
They train at high speed. Try doing more difficult versions of things; you'll find that the original thing seems easier.
