I am going to Disneyland with my mother next week, but she has motion sickness?

We are going to Disneyland for my birthday, but my mother has motion sickness and on top of that she hates fast rides.

Can we still have an enjoyable time?

I love fast rides.

If I do go on it alone, will I be able to enjoy it?

What can we do to make the experience more enjoyable?|||O man what can u do at disney world don't get me started other than those awesome fast rides (which u should really get on it will be fun by yourself). There are 3D movies night shows o and this one thing called tornado ally were like u went in and it shows a lot of real looking tornadoes so much fun. Has basically tiny carnivals every were to chill out and have some funnel cakes and talk. But u really should get on those rides your mom wants u to go there for your enjoyment the experience will be a guaranteed enjoyable time. Man I loved disney world u are lucky.|||Right now, pick up the phone and call Disneyland and make reservations for the Rain forest caf茅! Right now! That is SO much fun, but you must have reservations!

Also, ride everything! Go to the shows, watch the parade. I LOVE the Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean is awesome. If you want to save time standing in line DON'T go on the Finding Nemo submarine (worst ride ever, and a HUGE line) and don't watch Crush's show. (turtle from finding nemo) It really honks.

As for motion sickness....Well, I don't think any of the rides in Disneyland should really affect that, but almost all the rides in California Adventure will. I think she will be okay. Tell her to take some Dramamine and it should work out.

Also, if its your birthday, you can get a birthday sticker at town hall!

I am SO jealous of you! Have a good time!|||I went to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios last summer. My mom and some other relatives came along, but my mom was probably the only one that had motion sickness. Whatever you do, don't force your mom to go on any rides. I did, and I tried to pacify her by telling her it wasn't that bad, and at the end she felt very naseous. All I can tell you is try to compromise with her and go with her on the things she wants to go on, and you go on what you want to. I don't know if anyone else is going with you, but balance it out so you guys can try to be together. (I've never been to Disneyland so I don't know what rides they have). Hope I helped. Good luck!|||Of course! I just went in November, and I'm going again this Saturday. And I live all the way by New York :)

I have a friend who came with me in November that was terrified of any rides that could induce motion sickness.

Disneyland is a place for families, and there's lots of things to do that won't make your mother sick. You might want to avoid the "It's a Small World Ride" though ;) . It gets very annoying.

I went on all the "extreme" rides alone. I had a blast. When you're having a great time on a ride, you don't even realize who's with you ;)

To make it more enjoyable... I'd say just live up Disneyland. What I mean is that you don't need to go on the rides, per se. Just shop and walk around. Take pictures with the characters. See some shows. It'll be fun, don't worry. It's Disneyland. Their job is to make you have a good time :)|||there is a pill, it's called dramamine, and it helps with motion sickness. check it out: http://www.drugs.com/mtm/dramamine.html

also, there is dramamine II and that has less drosiness, but the same effect. more info found here: http://www.drugs.com/meclizine.html|||I dont like fast rides either but when I go (disneyworld not land) I go on the kiddy rides. Im sure your mom will wait for you for one or two rides? and there are tons of rides that arent fast and shows and other things to do..|||she could take dramamine or motion sickness medicine.

hope i helped!|||Disney isn't just rides there's plenty to do there either way im sure you'll both have a great time|||I've been to Disney World five times and my most recent trip was about seven months ago. I went to all four parks.

Magic Kingdom:

Oh man, there is so much to do here. If your mother hates fast rides, then she should check out It's a Small World. It teaches you about different cultures by singing a cute little song in their languages, and taking you into a room where you see the dolls doing things from that culture. Peter Pan is also a good one. You just fly over Neverland and it's not fast at all. Steer clear of Space Mountain because that's really fast and has a lot of drops and speed and wild turns. If your mother wants a challenge, Thunder Mountain Railroad could be it. It doesn't go too fast and it's great for first-time riders. Splash Mountain is also a good one, but it has a 52-foot drop at the end so your mother may not like that. She might like Pirates of the Caribbean because that's interesting but not fast or intense. You could also go on Buzz Lightyear because that's just where you go around and shoot things.

Animal Kingdom:

Don't let your mother go on Expedition Everest. It goes backwards, there's a huge drop, and some startling, um, abominable snowmen on the ride too. I've never been on it myself, but I know what it's like. Don't go on Primeval Whirl because that spins, so it may not be good for her motion sickness. You could go on Kali River Rapids if she doesn't mind getting soaked. Dinosaur may be good but it jerks around a whole lot. No speed or spinning though, so it could be okay.

DIsney's Hollywood Studios:

Your mother wouldn't like this park. THe two main rides are Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster. Tower of Terror has a huge drop, and Rock n Roller Coaster, while being INSANELY fun, has three loops and goes wicked fast. She might like Star Tours, but that jerks around. There are really no other good rides in this park.

Epcot:

Definitely take your mother on Soarin'. It's where you feel like you're flying over California and it's not intense at all. The lines for this ride can be ridiculous so buy a FastPass. Stay away from Test Track, it's the fastest ride in all of Disney World. Definitely DO NOT take her on Mission Space, because it spins around a lot and I've seen very strong-stomached people come out throwing up. She could go on the Green Team though, because that version doesn't spin and only moves around a little.

It's absolutely not boring if you go on a ride by yourself. You'll have a great time. Hope I helped and good luck!
