Physics motion of a ball relative the the ground and wagon?

Suppose you place a ball in the middle of a wagon that is at rest and then abruptly pull the wagon forward. Describe the motion of the ball relative to the ground and the wagon. Is it something to do with mechanical equilibrium? Please help.

thanks so much,

Susan M.Physics motion of a ball relative the the ground and wagon?it'll move backwards relative to the wagon because of the inertia of rest, and i think it should move forward, i.e. in the direction of the wagon relative to the ground, because the object is in the wagon. the frame of reference changes in the second case...
