How to deal with motion sickness effectively ?

Hi , my fianc茅e got motion sickness , she tried everything from sleeping to jugging water standing on one leg ; anyway , she has to endure up to 5 hours of transports every single day and I wanted to gift her with something to help her get through that sadistic torture .

I thought about gifting her with an iPod , that way she will be distracted but she once mentioned that her sickness got worse when she listened to anything on her mp3 .

Help ?How to deal with motion sickness effectively ?There are a few remedies around see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_sick鈥?/a> for details. I like the idea of anything where drugs are not being used regularly, such as the natural remedies, or the use of chewing gum, or eating crystallised ginger.
