Is it legal for a bus in New Jersey to pick up a passenger after it has pulled from its stop and is in motion?

That is, the bus is pulling from it's stop. It's in motion. A passenger comes running. Can the bus driver stop the bus and pick up the passenger after it has pulled from the stop and is in motion? Is it legal for a bus in New Jersey to pick up a passenger after it has pulled from its stop and is in motion?Yes it is legal. I have seen this happen with Metro trains on the transit system. The driver if he/she wants to can stop for any late passenger. As long as the person wanting to ride is still within the proper distance, then the driver can make a complete stop to let the passenger enter. Its not so much about the bus stop as it is making sure that the passenger gets to his/her destination. Its totally dependent upon the bus driver. Is it legal for a bus in New Jersey to pick up a passenger after it has pulled from its stop and is in motion?Yes, provided that the passenger is still within the bounds as so designated by the transit authorities to be the pick up zone. The zone or area around the bus stop itself differs in different municipalities.

This is why drivers, one may observe, will not pick up a passenger even if it would appear proper to do so. He or she cannot do it, lest he or she chances to cause certain harm to that prospective passenger who might slip and fall or harm to other pedestrians or to vehicles or be cited by the police.

So long as the driver abides both that rule and the traffic laws of the city itself, yes... it is legal. Is it legal for a bus in New Jersey to pick up a passenger after it has pulled from its stop and is in motion?in some cases its up the driver in other cases its *suppsoely prohibted* but drivers do it any (like for a senior citizen for an exmaple)

but in other cities drivers can be wrritten up for picking up pasegers after leaving the curb

its because the driver is trying to merge into traffic thats one of the reasob plus people have gotten killed that way they slip of the curb and fall under the wheels of the bus)Is it legal for a bus in New Jersey to pick up a passenger after it has pulled from its stop and is in motion?
sure why not/if its safe the driver will always do it
