Why do perpetual motion devices not exist?

It seems like you can make perpetual motion by using a small motor to turn a wheel, then using the wheel to recharge a battery that is powering the motor. Why does this not work? Are scientists close to creating self-sustaining devices? Why do perpetual motion devices not exist?it does exist, because i have it, in fact i've 5 different versions working as we speak...,,,,Why do perpetual motion devices not exist?
Because we don't know how to do it yet.

Why do perpetual motion devices not exist? The machine you are describing is nowhere near 100% efficient. There will be losses in the motor, at the wheel and charging the battery. Not to mention that even if it were 100% efficient you would have effectively done nothing.

Perpetual motion machines violate both the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics. In order for them to be possible there would have to be cases in which these laws do not apply. So far we haven't found any of these cases. Why do perpetual motion devices not exist?
part of the energy is disipated in friction / heat

we haven't yet seen that there is anything in the universe that can overall oppose the tendency to an even spread of heat. Why do perpetual motion devices not exist?Because no machine is 100% efficient
