How does quadratic functions relate to the projectile of motion?

How does quadratic functions relate to the projectile of motion? like the formulaHow does quadratic functions relate to the projectile of motion?acceleration = -9.8 (m/s/s)

integrate

velocity -9.8t + C (where C is the initial velocity)

integrate

position = -4.9t^2 + Ct + k (where k is the initial position)

as you can see the equation of position is in the form y = ax^2 + bx + c

meaning it is a quadratic.How does quadratic functions relate to the projectile of motion?a projectile travels in a parabolic path. Its distance from the ground changes because of the acceleration of gravity pulling down and the velocity of the projectile moving up.

acceleration=gravity = -9.81 m/s^2

final_velocity=-9.81x+initial_velocity

final_distance=-4.9x^2 + initial_velocity*x + initial_distance %26lt;--- quadratic function
