Under the new provisions, passed under the coalition, when a petition passes 100k signatures, its looked at by the privy office and a backbencher brings forth the motion under the one day rule, and here we are, its on the official calendar of events.
Should the death penalty be re-introduced just for child killers or is murder of all more able to pass through both house, neigh should it pass to a public vote. comments ta.What do you make of the UK Death Penalty - Motion tabled for option to execute child killers?not gonna happen, unfortunatelyWhat do you make of the UK Death Penalty - Motion tabled for option to execute child killers?
OK, here are my comments. Nobody ever changed their opinion on the death penalty, so it's just academic. People are never swayed by debate on this subject.
I don't see why child killers are any different from any other killers. Murder is murder. If my husband or mother was murdered, why is that less important than if someone's child was murdered? If you're going to have the death penalty, you can't differentiate between different victims. Who is to say that one is more important than another?
The law is not about revenge or retribution. Killing is wrong. End of story. Murdering someone else does not atone for the first murder. It's just another murder. Lock them up, feed them bread and water, throw away the key. But if you commit 'legal murder' it's still murder. Well, that's my two-penneth.What do you make of the UK Death Penalty - Motion tabled for option to execute child killers?I think multiple killers, paedophiles and gang leaders they have all been given a chance and currently we give them too much a chance to change but no they don't take is so they are gone. Why stop there we can't walk down the street without crossing the street or diverting the eye when we come to a group of youths so bring back the strap, slap, chain gangs and a form of national service to get those little spoilt sh1ts to work and know what respect is.
ADDITION: If people do not believe in the death penalty then they must believe in the prison sentence, people changed to what it is now a holiday at her majesty pleasure. I have been tolled by countless criminals that prison is nothing but a college to do more crime and get away with it as long as possible!!!!
So change the prison to a slum where it is cruel and punishing if you do not like the thought of death because at the minute we rather spend our hard earn taxes on looking after scum than giving our OAPs some of which spent all their lives working and crime free leaving them on the streets, dying alone, starving and penniless!!!!!
ADDITION: Ehm, I wonder why the USA have a higher crime rate emmmm how long do people need to think on that one!!!! Just a few ideas they are completely different from the UK and to be honest the whole of the world, they have no culture to reflect on, they have guns, they may be rich yet the people are poor and they are by far massively populated (was going to say red neck thickos but that's downright immature, you cant say you have not thought it at times.) etc etc.
If someone is going to be happy seeing a phedo who has just ravaged their 18 month old baby walk out for good behaviour in 8 years but spending his term with a conferable life inside and getting paid for it then getting priority housing and set up, then if people think that's it he/she is done the time, good on them but I would rather see the criminal scum to be hung so I do not get done for killing him.
As for that innocent person getting convicted then the person deserves it if they are convicted twice for the same crime instead of choosing better friends then they get what is coming to them. DP should be for the harden criminals the repeaters and the obviously convicted, If the justice system is to be trusted I am sure we are better than back in the 1950s!!!
I hope that people in the UK take a look at the death penalty system in the US (where murder rates are higher.)
The death penalty isn鈥檛 effective in reducing crime, prolongs the anguish of families of murder victims, costs a whole lot more than life in prison, and, worst of all, risks executions of innocent people. It comes down to whether the death penalty should be brought back for the sake of the only two purposes its serves: retribution and revenge. What do you make of the UK Death Penalty - Motion tabled for option to execute child killers? It's been debated many times and will never happen. British parliament feels we have moved on from executing people.
However, as the death penalty will never be re-introduced I'd love them to debate a law which could happen. That is, that a life sentence for murder should mean life without any chance of release (unless proven innocent in that time). What do you make of the UK Death Penalty - Motion tabled for option to execute child killers?
Even in this day and age an innocent person can still be convicted. Because of this I don't believe the death sentence has any place in our society.
the death penalty works it really does we need it now in the uk
seriously
in america states like texas have the death penalty and as we all know no child is ever killed and muder never happens no not ever
lol

Killing people doesn't show that killing people is wrong, quite the opposite,. Most people who kill, aren't serial killers or killing for profit. They're people who kill out of passion. They feel that they've been wronged. Killing people as punishment in a public context shows that killing people in a private context is justice. It promotes killing. The United States kills more people than any other developed country and it has a murder rate many times larger than the murder rate in any other developed country. The death penalty has a far more destructive effect on society than positive. If the UK doesn't to have the murder rate that the United States does, it should not emulate how it deals with crime. Additionally, you're inevitably going to kill someone who's innocent. DNA evidence has more and more been showing that innocent people have been convicted. People shouldn't be murdered by the state just so that a blood thirsty mob can get their jollies.
we need to fry there asses in an electric chair, man
It won't happen, forcing debates cos 100,000 sign them is a waste of time and money when there are 30 million voters, even if it was brought back it would end up like the US with dozens of appeals going on for 20 years plus costing the taxpayer billions in lawyers fees.
The UK parliament, the House of Commons cannot reintroduce the death penalty.
Reason.
Because the EU Parliament has scrapped the death penalty - it is no longer allowed anywhere in the EU.
The only possible way in which the death penalty can be re-introduced in UK is if UK left the EU completely. That's not going to happen either. And the reason becomes clear when you begin to understand that this entire enterprise of the EU is something invented by politicians so that they can have big fat incomes while at the same time doing no work - the expenses accounts are vast and no one is checking up on what the politicians spend it on either - call girls, booze, you name it etc.
Someone recently stood outside the EU Parliament in Brussels and watched politicians going in. Many of them simply clock on in the morning, thus collecting several thousands of Euros but then simply walk out of the building half an hour later only to return the following morning to clock in again.
Workers at a factory must clock in and clock out. Think the same rule should be applied to all politicians. And only pay them for the time they are clocked in. No more 'salaries and expenses' but wages which must be worked for - minimum week 40 hours with at least 20 hours per week of constituency work. Clock on and Clock off - watched by time keepers via the Internet etc. Not difficult to do, esp. if each of them is tagged so that we can all go on line and know where our representatives are at any time of the day or night.
Power to the people.
Unless the UK is prepared to rescind its membership of the EU, and reverse it's decision to endorse the European Convention on Human Rights, the death penalty will remain banned. Parliament can debate all it likes on this matter, but we are legally unable to do anything about it without major primary legislation which has little chance of happening. The debate is futile.
The MP's will just ignore it same as one on immigrants
A waste of parliamentary time just to keep 100000 morons happy. A lot of hot air will be spoken on the subject, just like on here. It wont happen because the majority of MPs ARE in tune with the voters.
The "hang em high" brigade never learn!
