I'd like to produce either hydraulic or pneumatic motion in an arc. An example of the application would be opening a door. I'd like to use a straight cylinder to do this but I'd like its motion to somehow be transfered into an arc instead of a linear path. How can I do this? I'm hoping there is some way I can use a tevis or similar joint for this.
ThanksHow to produce hydraulic or pneumatic motion in an arc?You would use a method of attaching the cylinder and rod to the door and frame in a way that allows the cylinder to adjust its angle (pivot) as the rod extends and retracts. A clevis or trunion mount is a typical attachment that will allow some angular movement of the cylinder as it operates.
