Poll : How can I make my shot one fluid motion and keep my elbow in?
I have a problem with my shot, it's sort of a two step shot. I bend my legs jump, hang for a bit then snap my wrist for a release. How can I make it one fluid motion like Ray Allen, Stephen Curry and Kobe? Any drills I can do? Also, I have a tendency to sort of "hitch" The ball towards my forehead during the shot, making my elbow move out. How can I keep my elbow straight? Any drills I can do on that? Thank you.Poll : How can I make my shot one fluid motion and keep my elbow in?I can say without seeing you shoot that you have quite likely diagnosed your shooting problem well. The two-part shot is a common flaw. What you should develop is a one-part lift to your shot. The ball begins at its starting point (which is where you would pick up your dribble) and must be lifted straight up to your release point, not pulled back towards your forehead. The best way to practice this is simply to shoot the ball into the air, not at a hoop. Pay attention to keeping space between the ball and your face as you lift quickly to your release point. Lifting quickly may also straighten out the line of your forearm so that your elbow stays where it needs to.Poll : How can I make my shot one fluid motion and keep my elbow in?This what i did firstly before a shot i tuck my hand into my waist and bring the ball up straight in front of my right eye. if everything is done right ur forearm should be straight. If ur still unsure practice bringing the ball up in front of the mirror it really helps with ur shooting form.Poll : How can I make my shot one fluid motion and keep my elbow in?Try shooting with only one hand, this will help you get a better feel for the ball. A hitch usually occurs when you are unsure of how secure the ball is in your hand while in the process of shooting.
